During the summer of 2015, I served as a Newsroom Intern with the Alabama’s National Public Radio affiliate in Tuscaloosa, home of The University of Alabama. While there, I produced two feature stories that ran on-air and were heavily featured on the station website.

This piece looked at the then-recent trend of escape rooms. At the time this story was written, three different escape room businesses had opened within three months of each other, two of them in the same town. I spoke with representatives from two of the businesses and followed a group through one of the puzzle rooms. This story was nominated for an Alabama Press Association award.
