I don’t think I’m engaging in hyperbole when I say that “The Big Lebowski” is one of the finest films of the last 25 years. Of course, in my mind, the Cohen Brothers have never made a bad film. Anyway, I was thinking about the movie recently when I put together the movie trivia contest this past weekend (fun fact: the word “dude” is spoken 160 times in the film), and tonight I figured I’d try my hand at some “Lebowski”-related fan art. While this piece didn’t turn out exactly as I’d seen it in my head, I think it’s fairly effective. And who doesn’t love The Stranger, with his gentlemanly drawl and amazing mustache. I’m not exaggerating when I say I would crawl in that thing and take a nap. I bet it smells like the finest scotch, aged in a leather glove. Anyway… I might consider spinning this into a series, spotlighting other characters from the “Lebowski”-verse. I guess we’ll see. (turns to bartender) Say, friend – you got any more of that good sarsaparilla?
